After Apple’s recent update to their Mac computer line, I started to hate them but now Steve has sort of turned my frown into a smile. On the 1st of September Apple updated the iPod Touch, iPod Nano, Apple TV and more.
But I’m really happy about the iPod Touch. It’s much better than the old iPod touch and can compete against the iPhone as an entertainment device. I think this is great news, especially for those who don’t want to pay the premium price for the iPhone but still want to enjoy most of it’s features.
Here are the main specifications of the new iPod Touch:
- Same Retina display as the iPhone 4 which provides an insanely crisp picture which is a 336ppi resolution which is 960 x 640 pixels.
- Can record 720pHD footage and take photos with it’s rear camera.
- It has the Facetime feature built in so you can use it to talk to your friends and family who also own an iPod touch or an iPhone 4.
- It has the same A4 chip as the iPhone 4 and the iPad so you can play games at super speeds.
- It has a 3-axis gyroscope so it has more precision than just a accelerometer.
- Comes standard with IOS 4.1.
- Built-in microphone and speaker.
So what do you think? The new iPod touch is essentially an iPhone 4 without the calling features and a few other features. It’s also thinner than the old iPod touch. I was hoping it would have a different design a bit like the iPhone 4 but it didn’t but either way, it’s still sexay!
